Trinity United Methodist Church History
Trinity United Methodist Church, Lickdale, is a warm and welcoming church strategically located just off Exit 90 on Interstate Route 81. The present Sanctuary was completed in 1969 and the first Worship Service here was held on March 16. A new addition was dedicated in 2005.
However, the church really began its journey in the nineteenth century. Its history is linked with three United Brethren (which later became Evangelical United Brethren) churches – Bethel, founded in 1859; Greenpoint, founded in 1873; and Grace, founded in 1901. On July 9, 1967 these three churches decided to bring their resources together and unite to become the Trinity Evangelical United Brethren Church and eventually the Trinity United Methodist Church.
The church is very open to God’s working with the Pastor and members being involved in ministries with truckers, in a prison Bible Study, mission trips to other States in the US and helping “the last, the least, and the lost” in the community and around.
As a church we believe that God wants us to “strive to reveal that God is essential in people’s lives” by calling them into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ. This is because we believe that only in Jesus is there true freedom from sin, guilt, the past, and only He can give real purpose in life”.
God isn’t done with us yet…
